Jethro's Place Animal Sanctuary was founded in 1999.  We realized there was a real need for an organization that was dedicated to the no-kill movement, but also an organization willing to advocate on behalf of the voiceless.  It's been a difficult journey at times, but always rewarding.  Jethro's Place is a leader in the movement to end the sale of homeless pets to Research Dealers by Michigan Shelters and Pounds.  Jethro's Place also is a strong voice for ending pet overpopulation through spay/neuter programs.

We provide comfort, nurturing and care to domestic animals in our care.  Since 1999, hundreds of dogs and cats have found their way to new homes through our efforts.  We look forward to the day when there are no more homeless pets!

Jethro's Place is an all volunteer, 501 (C) (3) nonprofit organization.  Currently, all of our dogs and cats are housed in foster homes.  We are raising money to buy land for a sanctuary, based on the model of Best Friends in Kanab Utah.  Southeastern Michigan needs a no-kill sanctuary where animals live happy lives without the threat of being killed because of lack of shelter space.  To help us achieve our goal, please email info@jethrosplace.org.
