How to Adopt

Our goal is to place our dogs and cats in forever homes, not to keep people from adopting.  We try very hard to match the right companion with the right family, which is why we ask so many questions!  An active person would not be pleased with a dog who wants to be a couch potato!  To make the right match we start with the adoption application. Please click here to complete our online application.

After we receive your application we will review it, check the references and contact you – either by phone or email to discuss the adoption.  We’ll arrange for you to meet the animal you are interested in, either at Petsmart or in your home.  We will visit your home to complete the adoption.

Fees and Legal Stuff

Our adoption fee is $225 for dogs.  This is for veterinary work, which includes, Distemper and Rabies vaccinations, Heartworm Test and preventative to date of adoption, Spay or Neuter and microchip..

The adoption fee for cats is $100 and includes feline distemper and rabies vaccinations, FELV/FIV Test, spay or neuter and microchipping.

Every adopter signs a legally enforceable contract that requires the dog or cat be returned to Jethro’s Place if the adoption fails to work out.
